Trailside Cylinder Vase #2 — Yellow & Orange Flowers (Matte Finish)
Handmade from white stoneware clay and thrown on the pottery wheel in my studio, this vase features a lively, layered surface created from my original floral design. Each bloom and leaf is painted with underglaze and then hand carved using the sgraffito technique, revealing delicate lines and textures that give the piece a soft, tactile rhythm. The matte finish adds a gentle, natural feel.

This vase is part of my new Trailside Collection, a body of ceramic work and watercolor paintings inspired by the fleeting beauty I encounter on mountain bike rides through the wooded trails of my hometown in New York’s Southern Tier and Vermont’s Kingdom Trails. I often pause mid-ride to photograph wildflowers, fields, and those quiet, breathtaking moments that disappear as quickly as they arrive. This collection is my attempt to bottle that sense of freedom and the trails lined with wild wonders.

Glaze is food safe, ok to use in microwave or dishwasher. But to protect and maintain finish and surface decoration, hand washing is best.
