Blue Zinnia Mug: handmade with white stoneware clay, thrown on pottery wheel. Original design drawn on pot and painted with underglaze, with a slip-trailed flower and leaf design with hand carved details (mishima technique).
The slip trailing is a slightly raised design that gives this piece a tactile sensation, it's so nice to hold!
This design was inspired by the zinnia flowers I plant by my mailbox every summer. I look forward to their big, softball sized colorful blooms and started drawing them a lot over this past winter. Putting them on handmade mug designs means they can be enjoyed all year long :)
This mug is approximately 3.5”tall x 3.5"wide and holds 12 oz of your favorite beverage.
This listing is for one mug.
Glaze is food safe, ok to use in microwave or dishwasher. But to protect and maintain finish and surface decoration, hand washing is best.
The photos of the item are an example of what you will receive, but will likely not be a photo of the exact item. While I strive for consistency from each kiln load, I do appreciate the slight variations in handmade pieces and only list products that I am proud to present as my best work.
If you are in the Binghamton NY area and would like to arrange a local pickup, please mention that in the messages to seller and I will refund your shipping cost. Thanks!
This work is part of my July 2025 Exhibition "A Joyful Conversation in Color & Clay" and will be shipped immediately following the close of the show, by August 8, 2025.
