All of the surface illustrations and designs on my ceramic pieces start as drawings on paper. So many of the sketches grow into longer painting sessions and I've been putting a lot of time and love into each one. 'Always Lemons' was the beginning of my 'Lemon Love' ceramic work series. Lemons are a frequent subject matter for me - maybe it's their funny shape or the sunny yellow color? I just love them!
