'Hope Rising' vase: white stoneware clay, assembled from wheelthrown and handbuilt parts. Original design drawn on pot and painted with underglaze, with carved details.
This is a piece I created in response to a poem. I chose the wildflowers to be a symbol of Hope. These flowers are growing, rising in a bleak landscape with glimpses of blue sky. My intention is for the viewer to look beyond and through the desolate landscape, focus on the patches of blue sky and wonder what wonderful things might lie ahead.
This piece is approximately 5.5" tall x 4.25" wide x 6"deep. It works beautifully as a centerpiece/dining room decor vessel, or as a vase for dried wildflowers/lavendar.
Glaze is food safe, ok to use in microwave or dishwasher. But to protect and maintain finish and surface decoration, hand washing is best.
